As part of our lessons on fof Africa, we looked at an introduction to UX design. I was able to gain a few insights and attempt the quiz session as well.
1. What is UX? UX is the user's overall interaction with a product or service, whether delightful or frustrating. It applies to anything designed for human interaction, not just digital products.
2. What is UXD? UXD involves crafting elements of the user experience with a focus on user needs, ease, quality, and efficiency. It blends science, psychology, sociology, and artistry, with research and testing as crucial steps.
3. UX Design Origins Dr. Donald Norman coined "user experience" in the 1990s, emphasizing user-centric design for all interactions, physical or digital.
4. Good and Bad UX We analyze two cases: faucet design (lacking clarity) and digital wireframes (issues like accidental deletions). Improvements are crucial for user understanding.
5. Practical Exercise Analyze websites and apps you use, noting what's intuitive or frustrating. Focus on ease, goal achievement, and user-centricity. Cultivate a critical eye for UX design.
As part of the task, I analyzed various websites and apps like Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, Innoson group page, payday, etc.
I've gained a lot of insights on good and bad UX.
